One important but often overlooked part of a home build is job site cleanliness and overall protection of materials. I often encourage prospective clients to make a few job site visits at our homes under construction as well as other builders they may be interviewing with to get an understanding of how they are being managed. Are safety measures in place? How are materials being stored? What is the quality of workmanship from the trades? Does the builder take steps to protect materials? Even without a ton of construction knowledge most clients can quickly figure out which builders truly take pride in what they are building. And if you happen to come across the electrician using a laser level to drill their wire holes through a stud wall then you probably just found a builder you want to work with.
